My keen sense of detail with a desire to complete mental pictures landed me in a career as a carpenter. Carpentry allowed my creativity to flow as I created one-of-a-kind home and workspaces. Though it became clear that I am a creative, I was still able to be creative in the structured environments carpentry mandates. My career allowed my creativity to shine through as I provided for my family.
After retirement, I found myself gazing out of windows noticing color, movement and stillness while sensing there was something stirring on the inside of me. I no longer had a desire to saw wood, sand surfaces, and paint walls but somehow knew paint brushes were still part of my life. In 2019, after a good night of sleep, I woke one day thinking I wanted to put paint on a canvas. This was an odd thought because I only admired artwork without ever thinking I would or could do anything like that. Nonetheless, off to an art supply store I went. If there is a level below novice, this is what I would have classified myself as. After purchasing some supplies, something incredible happened two days later, my first painting emerged.
The work that you see are labors of love as I offer you peace, joy, and encouragement on canvas. My work is not a developed talent, it is a gift revealed.
